Attitude

I want to confess right now about my habit of having a rotten attitude. I want to apologize to any of you that have had a hard time being around me because everything that comes out of my mouth seems to be linked to complaining or having a stinky attitude. I find it hard to be around people who complain all the time and I am ironically in fact one of those people. Please forgive me. I want that to be my past and not my future. My dad reminded me recently that attitude has everything to do with how you handle certain situations and how you function daily. I know this but I still have struggled with thinking positively. I want to be encouraging to others. I want people around me to know without asking me that I'm a Christian by viewing the way I act. I want to go through the majority of my day thinking about my blessings, not the things that are going wrong. The more frustrated I get, the more my negative thinking takes over and Satan completely takes over every bit of me it seems. I've been angry inside for the majority of my life and I'm tired of it. It makes me not be able to function the way God wants me to. The past month I have been trying to think positively and keep the joy of the Lord in my heart. Frank's sermon's on having a hard heart, anger, etc. have really hit home with me. I feel so much more peaceful now because I'm trying to change my thinking. Man, it's hard to undo 26 years of negativity! I know a lot of you have struggled with these same things. We just have to help each other. Please read this:

"Attitude"
By: Charles Swindoll

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on my life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company ... a church ... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past ... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude ... I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you ... we are in charge of our attitudes."

Pardon my grammar, but ain't it the truth, my friends? I love this quote and need to post it on my bathroom mirror so I can start the day right.
