Just how far is that really?
I have been feeling like I'm in a total state of forgetfulness when it comes to taking time out of my day for God. I hate it when I get like this. I long to stay on a permanent spiritual high, but I just haven't been able to maintain that. Nobody does. I have just started back praying on a daily basis. I have to say there was a pretty big gap between then and now. I have also been battling with feeling saved or not depending on where I am spiritually. It scares me that Jesus could come back any time and I don't want to be caught in a rut. I just want my thoughts and my actions to be pleasing to God. I have to remember that I don't have to be perfect all of the time or any of the time for that matter. I have to remind myself of the awesomeness of God's grace. I condemn myself because I feel so guilty that I'm not where I need to be. Why do I forget about God's grace so much and tell myself how bad I've been? The answer has to be Satan. He knows just how to make me feel weak and not good enough. He creeps in slowly and grabs me when I'm not paying attention.
Oh, how I despise him!
Sorry to ramble, but lately I've just been thinking about how precious life is and I just want to live my life every day without taking for granted the really important things. Those are just some of the things I'm having trouble with right now. I just needed to confess. Please keep me in your prayers as I pray for all of you each night--my friends whom I am blessed to have in my life.
I heard this song on the radio the other day for the first time and it really spoke to my heart. It reminds us that our sins really are forgiven. It's so hard for me to believe sometimes. Please read the words and really listen to them in the video posted above this post.
Thank you God for casting my sin as far as the east is from the west..........(Psalm 103:12)
East to West
By: Casting Crowns
Here I am Lord,
And I'm drowning
In your sea of forgetfulness
The chains of yesterday surround me
I yearn for peace and rest
I don’t want to end up where you found me
And it echoes in my mind,
Keeps me awake tonight
I know you cast my sin as far as the east is from the west
And I stand before you now as,
As though I've never sinned
But today I feel like I'm just one mistake away
From you leaving me this way
Jesus can you show me
Just how far the east is from the west
Cause I can't bear to see the man I've been
Rising up in me again
In the arms of your mercy I find rest,
Cause you know just how far the East is from the West
From one scarred hand to the other.
I start the day the war begins
Endless reminding of my sin
And time and time again your truth is drowned out
By the storm I'm in
Today I feel like I'm just one mistake away,
From you leaving me this way
Jesus can you show me,
Just how far the East is from the West
Cause I can't bear to see the man I've been
Rising up in me again
In the arms of your mercy I find rest
'cause you know
Just how far the East is from the West
From one scarred hand to the other.
I know you've washed me white,
Turned my darkness into light
I need your peace to get me through,
To get me through this night
Can’t live by what I feel
But by the Truth your work reveals,
I'm not holding on to you
But you're holding on to me,
You’re holding on to me
Jesus you know
Just how far the East is from the West
I don't have to see the man I've been,
Come rising up in me again
In the arms of your mercy I find rest
'cause you know just how far the East is form the West,
From one scarred hand to the other.
Just how far

From one scarred hand to the other

No One Mourns the Wicked

A week ago, I got back from a long weekend trip to Chicago. We went to see the broadway musical Wicked. It was SO awesome! It's about Glenda the good witch and Elphaba, aka the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz. It told of how they got to know each other and became friends prior to the events occuring in The Wizard of Oz. You also find out how the scarecrow, tin man, and lion got to be who they were. I just can't describe its awesomeness in words. The music was absolutely phenomenal. I really wish I could see it again!
Okay, I feel like I just wrote a synopsis paragraph like what you have to write in 3rd grade after a field trip. Anyways, I had a lot of fun but was glad to get back home.
I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Update on the Moving Experience
I'm currently at the public library checking my email because we don't have a computer set up right now. Living with the in-laws has been okay. Everything is insanely insane and nobody has any time to talk to each other so that means no disagreements for now. John is moving his office right now. His office will be at the Alpine Village Clubhouse effective Monday--which will be good because it's nicer than the old office that is infested with mold and mildew. Also once we're in our new house he can still walk to work. His dad created a path from our new house to the new office. To sum it all up, there has been a WHOLE LOT OF MOVING within the week. I finished up my part of the moving yesterday. John still has to go through the stuff in the basement and move it and then we can turn in our keys to our first home at 2246 Chisholm. It's weird not really having a place that feels like home right now. I know we're so blessed to have a place to live rent free at his parents, but it's still not home. I can't wait until the house is done.
I miss blogging so much....hopefully we'll have our computer set up soon (but we will be on dial up :( If anybody wants to come swimming, please call me anytime and you can come over. I'll make snacks and lemonade or whatever you want. Just come see me! Maybe John's parents will go out of town soon and we can have people over for games. I'll just be sure to let someone else bring them besides Melodie. I'm afraid she may forget! (love you mel :)
Well, I'll talk to you guys soon. I'll be leaving Wednesday night to go to Nashville b/c our flight leaves Thursday morning for Chicago. Me, Bonnie, and John's Memaw are going to Chicago from Thurs. to Mon. to stay with his family and see the Broadway play, Wicked. When I planned this trip, I had no idea so much would be going on. I'm glad it all worked out that I could get away for a few days. Seriously, call me anytime if you want to swim.

We're Moving earlier than we thought
John came home from work on Friday and said, "Well, pack your bags 'cause we're moving." We will be moving any day now. To wrap it up in a nutshell, the business has been split and the house we're living in now is not part of that half. We are going to be moving in with John's parents until our house is done. We'll be busy so I don't think we'll get in each other's way. Anyways, I've been packing up things since Saturday. There are gonna be some major changes for us in the next few months--more than I think I've ever had to deal with at one time. Please pray that the transition of John's job and our move (or moves plural) will be as smooth as possible. I'm just overwhelmed right now, but we've made some good progress in packing. It seems like so much to do when you look at what all has to be boxed up. I need to just quit getting frustrated and just get as much done each day and not think about it being this huge overwhelming process. I've never gone through a big move before until now so it's a lot to get used to! Moving makes you realize how materialistic we all are because we accumulate SO MUCH STUFF! I've got a ton of stuff to take to the Friendship Center and I can't tell you how many bags of garbage we've thrown away!
